LOVE/DATING

DO –

Always be yourself. Don’t try and act like someone you’re not cause it might end up seeming unnatural and putting them off you all together.

Have faith in your relationship if you’re in one, going to university doesn't mean its going to end. Effort is key.

Don’t be afraid to go out and meet new people and go on dates, its all an experience and it could be worth it at the end.

Always try and get to know someone before you get with them. As in many cases some end up having girlfriends/boyfriends back at home that they aren’t be completely honest about.

Make sure you’re comfortable in a situation, don’t feel like you have to do something or go somewhere you don’t want to.

Nerves are fine when meeting someone new. Try not let this scare you off, as it could turn out to be better than you expected.

If you like someone, its not always a bad thing to tell them how you feel. This could also show you where your relationship is at, which could also save you from heartbreak.

Its not always the boy who has to ask out the girl. Don’t be scared to ask someone on a date as even boys can get nervous when approaching a girl.

Top Tips

DON’T –

Do not date someone in the same building that you live with at uni, as it could get tricky if you break up.

Don't let a new relationship take over your social life, you need to find a balance between relationship and friends, as you don’t want to distance yourself.

Don't get into a relationship for the sake of it. If all your friends are dating doesn't mean you have to.

Don’t try to hard if you go out on a date. Impressing someone is good but not when it comes across to forward or cocky.

If you’re going out for food on a first date don’t order awkward food. Burgers and spaghetti is a no no and could leave you feeling uncomfortable.

Don’t talk about your ex or your past on a date. It could put them off if you seem too into your ex still.

When you come to uni, it can kind of be full on when it comes to sex, even with drinking games. Don’t be ashamed if you haven’t done something everyone else has. Laugh it off and don’t let it bother you. Everyone does things at different ages, so it really isn’t as big as a deal as you think.

Worst thing to do is to try and make someone jealous. Some say that this works as it makes the person wants you more, however worst case scenario the person you actually like will begin to hate you.
